What is a burgee?  Burgees are triangular flags or pennants used to identify recreational boating organizations or ocean going vessels.  Historically, yacht clubs like the DLYC have designed and used their own burgees to distinguish their boats in regattas and to enhance their printed materials.  Think of a burgee as a type of logo or trademark.

In 2024, Traci Clark launched the DLYC's Burgee fundraising effort by offering a unique DLYC burgee to give recognition to donors of a certain level.  These burgees are prominently displayed at the club for all to see as a way of saying THANK YOU!

- For a $5,000 Gold Anchor donation, the donor receives a DLYC burgee enhanced with the image of a gold anchor.
- For a $2,500 Anchor donation, the donor receives a DLYC burgee.

In either case, the donor decides on the text to be printed on the flag.

All funds raised through the effort are deposited in the operational account of the yacht club to support programs and activities that are not funded by member dues.  These donationa help the DLYC continue the strong traditions begun 85 years ago and help us leave a legacy for the future.

If you are interested in purchasing a DLYC burgee on behalf of your family or your business, please contact Traci Clark.  She would love to hear fron you!
